At Schwan, internships go beyond mere shadowing. The purpose of our Intern program is to provide a beneficial and meaningful experience. As a participant, you'll gain not only knowledge, but the intangibles not taught in college - so you'll have a head start when you begin your career.

What will my housing be like?
We offer various options for housing during your internship including subletting at Southwest Minnesota State University, renting rooms within the local community, or securing short-term leases with local realtors.

What are the requirements?
You must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or authorized to work indefinitely in the United States. Most internships require you to be at a junior status and pursuing an internship related to your field of study.

Are the Internships paid?
The vast majority of the internships are competitively compensated. Interns are not eligible for the standard employee benefit package.

Are the Internships competitive?
Most internships are quite competitive. Summer semester internships are the most difficult to obtain due to the large number of applicants. Your chances of obtaining an internship increase in the Fall and Winter semester.
